March 23-25, 2017 the leading researcher of the Institute of Advanced Studies of the Tatarstan Science Academy I.N. Plotnikova took part in an international conference devoted to the problems of deep carbon at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, Great Britain.
More than 150 scientists from England, USA, Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, Sweden and other countries took part in the conference, which included intensive oral presentations, poster sessions and seminars.
The greatest attention was drawn to the reports on the results of the work of several international expeditions on ocean research, serpentinite massifs, the transformation of organic matter in subduction zones, and monitoring of deep hydrocarbon decontamination in the area of active volcanoes.
