Professor Makarim Nafikov receives Mosolov Prize from the Tatarstan Academy of Sciences 03.03.2023

The ceremony was held on 1 March.

The Prize is awarded jointly by the Division of Agricultural Sciences and the Division of Biomedical Sciences of the Academy. Coincidentally, Professor Nafikov, currently tenured at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Innovation Management, was commended for his works in continuation of Academician Mosolov’s (1888 – 1951) research of feed crops.

The awardee says, “Academician Vasily Mosolov is among the founders of scientific agriculture in Kazan. Since 1920s and up to his transfer to Moscow in 1951 he headed the Department of General Agriculture of Kazan Agricultural Institute. He authored over 200 papers and books. As I am from another generation, I didn’t meet Mosolov during his lifetime. However, my research consultant Abdulla Ziganshin was his student, and we are both Mosolov’s scholarly descendants.”

As for this peer recognition, Nafikov comments, “I wish that our labor would always be in demand, of great use and serve as starting ground for further scientific achievements.”
